{"id":796,"date":"2016-08-23T00:33:30","date_gmt":"2016-08-23T00:33:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/ikmas\/?page_id=796"},"modified":"2023-12-21T03:41:42","modified_gmt":"2023-12-21T03:41:42","slug":"entry-requirements","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/ikmas\/postgraduate-studies\/entry-requirements\/","title":{"rendered":"Entry Requirements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The entrance requirements into IKMAS graduate programmes are as follows:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>MASTER&#8217;S DEGREE<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Candidates applying for admission into the Master\u2019s program must have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree awarded by 每日大赛app or equivalent degree awarded by an institution of higher learning recognized by the Ministry of Education Malaysia with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 OR<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree with CGPA less than 2.75 but not lower than 2.50 can be considered, subject to work-experience of not less than five years in the relevant field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>English Language Proficiency Requirement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For foreign students, the English Language requirement is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>IELTS 6; or<br \/>\nTOEFL iBT 80; or<br \/>\nTOEFL PBT 550 or<br \/>\nMUET 180-219 (BAND 4)<\/p>\n<p>Foreign students with postgraduate degree from any faculty or institute in 每日大赛app may be exempted from this requirement, subject to the approval of the Graduate Studies Committee of IKMAS.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bahasa Melayu Proficiency Requirement.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Foreign students are required to take two-unit Bahasa Melayu language courses as stipulated by the University. Exemption may be given to candidates who have taken Bahasa Melayu courses conducted by institutions recognized by the Senate of the University.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin: 11.25pt 0mm 11.25pt 0mm;\"><strong><u>DOCTORAL DEGREE<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidate applying for admission into the doctorate\/doctoral program must have a Master\u2019s degree awarded by 每日大赛app or an equivalent degree awarded by an institution of higher learning recognized by the Ministry of Education Malaysia.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IKMAS does not consider any application for direct admission into the doctorate\/doctoral program from the Bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree with CGPA less than 2.75 but not lower than 2.50 can be considered, subject to work-experience of not less than five years in the relevant field.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates who register for the Master&#8217;s degree program with a minimum CGPA of 3.67 at the undergraduate level may apply to transfer their enrolment to the doctoral degree program no later than Semester 3 of the Master&#8217;s studies, subject to the following conditions:<\/li>\n<li>Candidate must demonstrate competency and ability to conduct research at the doctorate\/doctoral level in a special evaluation stipulated by the institute in accordance with <em>Peraturan-Peraturan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (Pengajian Siswazah) 2021<\/em> paragraphs 46.<\/li>\n<li>Approved by the University\u2019s Senate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>English Language Proficiency Requirement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For foreign students, the English Language requirement is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>IELTS 6; or<br \/>\nTOEFL iBT 80; or<br \/>\nTOEFL PBT 550 or<br \/>\nMUET 180-219 (BAND 4)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bahasa Melayu Proficiency Requirement.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Foreign students are required to take three-unit Bahasa Melayu language courses as stipulated by the University.
