To address this gap, this study investigates the effect of institutional investor networks on corporate innovation via the moderating role of female board directorship. Using data from a sample of Chinese listed businesses spanning 2014 to 2023, the findings show that institutional investor networks considerably enhance both innovation input and output by providing resource and knowledge advantages. This correlation is strengthened by the presence of female board directors, suggesting that they are better able to leverage network resources and produce creative judgments. By highlighting the critical roles played by institutional investor networks and female board members in fostering corporate innovation, this study offers managers useful guidance on enhancing corporate governance and optimizing investor relations.
