This study seeks to explore the impact of Project Manager Competencies (PMCs) and Risk Management (RM) on PS, with Knowledge Management (KM) as a mediating factor. The theoretical framework is grounding in Project Management theory and Critical Success Factors (CSF) theory, forming the basis for nine hypotheses. A self-administered questionnaire utilizing a five-point Likert scale was distributed to project managers of medium and large IT projects in China, and data were analyzed using CB-SEM in for model estimation and hypothesis testing, while SPSS was employed for preliminary data processing and regression analysis. Findings reveal that PMCs and RM demonstrate a significant positive effect on PS, with KM playing a partial mediating role, and all hypotheses were supported. This study contributes empirical insights to project management research, demonstrating the importance on the relationships among PMC, RM, and KM on PS. The findings offer practical guidance for top management and policymakers to enhance project outcomes by strengthening these key factors.

This study employs a case study approach, where interviews were conducted with human resource managers of seven hotels with different star ratings. Data are analyzed using NVivo and within and cross case analyses are performed to understand the different knowledge management strategies of Malaysian hotels to determine best practices in harnessing human capital in the hotel industry. The findings suggest that firms’ strategies are influenced by knowledge management and human capital management. The higher the rating of the hotels, the more likely the hotel is to adopt a knowledge management strategy based upon a human oriented strategy. This influences the innovativeness and creativeness of their human capital, which, in turn, increases the competitive advantage of the firms.

Impact of Size of the Manufacturing Firms on Knowledge Management Practices: An Empirical Analysis /jurnalpengurusan/article/impact-of-size-of-the-manufacturing-firms-on-knowledge-management-practices-an-empirical-analysis/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=impact-of-size-of-the-manufacturing-firms-on-knowledge-management-practices-an-empirical-analysis Sat, 08 Oct 2022 17:55:48 +0000 /jurnalpengurusan/?post_type=article&p=3338 Manufacturing sector is the driver of economic growth of developing countries and employment. Knowledge and knowledge management result in manufacturing excellence by improving productivity and flexibility of the organizations’ operations. This study has identified four fundamental knowledge management processes from the literature, namely knowledge acquisition, knowledge creation, knowledge storage and knowledge sharing that contribute to the growth of the organizations. Thus, we had developed a questionnaire to analyze these processes in the Indian manufacturing sector. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed using LISREL (Linear Structural Relations) software, that is, to test the convergence of the observed variables to each of the knowledge management processes. The results showed a good model fit for all the knowledge managerial processes. Then the data were explored, analyzed and compared with the current status of KM practices with respect to their sizes. It is found that size has a profound impact on the extent of adoption of KM practices.
