Skills are categorized into six dimensions, namely effective communication skills; critical thinking skills and problem solving; teamwork skills; ethical and moral skills in the profession; entrepreneurial skills; and management skills. This study is based on 130 service firms obtained from field studies in 2014. The objective of the study is to analyze the relationship between skills and firm technical efficiency. This study uses stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) in measuring the firm’s technical efficiency, while the structural equation model (SEM) uses the SmartPLS software in analyzing the relationship between skills and efficiency. The findings show that the level of technical efficiency of the service firm is relatively low. Furthermore, only the teamwork skills that positively influence the firm’s level of efficiency, while ethical and moral skills in the profession and effective communication skills negatively affect level of efficiency in the sector studied.

A survey method was employed to gather self-report questionnaires from employees who work at a state Islamic agency in Peninsular Malaysia. The outcomes of the SmartPLS path model analysis showed two important findings. First, the relationship between job autonomy and proactive behaviour was positively and significantly correlated with career satisfaction. Second, the relationship between transformational leadership and proactive behaviour was positively and significantly correlated with career satisfaction. This finding confirms that proactive behaviour does act as an effective mediating variable in the relationship between career management and career satisfaction in the organizational sample. A survey method was utilized to collect data from employees at a national election agency in Peninsular Malaysia. The SmartPLS was used to analyze the data and revealed two significant findings: First, relationship between supportive leadership style and organizational attachment was significantly correlated with encouragement to perform work. Second, relationship between participative leadership style and organizational attachment was significantly correlated with encouragement to perform work. The findings endorse that effect of human-oriented leadership on encouragement to perform work is mediated by organizational attachment. Further discussions, implications and conclusion are presented in this study.
