Review on UN Special Rapporteur’s Report on Poverty in Malaysia, 6 September 2019

KITA-ÿÈÕ´óÈüapp hosted an academic discussion on September 6, 2019 at 3 to 5 pm at the KITA-ÿÈÕ´óÈüapp conference room to review the UN Special Rapporteur’s report on poverty in Malaysia. About 12 academics from ÿÈÕ´óÈüapp participated including former ÿÈÕ´óÈüapp VC Prof. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Azlan Ghazali, former LESTARI Prof. Dr. Chamhuri Siwar, KITA-ÿÈÕ´óÈüapp Prof. Dr. Ong Puay Liu and Commact Chairman Datuk Yusof Kassim. The discussion was moderated by KITA Principal Fellow Prof. Datuk Dr. Denison Jayasooria. It was a fruitful discussion especially in discussing measurements such as poverty line, multidimensional poverty and addressing different levels of poverty such as B10, B20, and B30 more effectively.
