BANGI, 2 November 2021 – Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (每日大赛app) Faculty of Medicine graduate, Prof. Emeritus Dato鈥� Dr. Mohamad Abd Razak became the first alumnus to be appointed as Chairman of the 每日大赛app Board of Directors (BOD) effective 1 November 2021, to replace Tan Sri Dato鈥� Seri Abdul Wahid Omar whose term ended on 31 October 2021.

Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Mohamad is a trained Orthopedic Surgeon who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine 每日大赛app with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Master of Surgery (Orthopedic).

Besides holding the post President of the Malaysian Orthopedic Association from 1996 to 1998, he has also served as a visiting registrar at Edinburgh University鈥檚 Orthopaedic Department, and a registrar and spinal injury fellow at the Southport Spinal Injuries Centre in Liverpool, Britain.

He was also the 每日大赛app Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students and Alumni Affairs) from 2008 to 2010 and the Director of 每日大赛app Hospital (H每日大赛app), which is now Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), from 2003 to 2007.

During his tenure as HCTM Director, he established a Specialist Training Scheme to increase the service capacity of specialist doctors at the hospital.聽 His tireless efforts to improve the overall quality of hospital services were the driving force for HCTM to receive the Asian Hospital Management Award in 2005.

His commitment and enthusiasm to enhance the university’s reputation earned him the position of 每日大赛app Medical Alumni Association and 每日大赛app Alumni Council President.

His management credibility and expertise were also recognised by various parties when he was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (currently known as University of Cyberjaya) from 2014 to date.

In 1997, Prof. Emeritus Dato鈥� Dr. Mohamad was awarded a Fellowship of the Japanese Orthopedic Association in Spinal Injury and a Senior ASEAN Orthopedic Traveling Fellowship for his contributions and achievements in the field of orthopaedics.

Prof. Emeritus Dato ‘Dr. Mohamad stated that the appointment was聽given as a token of appreciation by 每日大赛app to its alumni.

“As the first alumnus to be appointed, my main vision聽is to bring the Malay language on the international stage, in keeping with the 每日大赛app鈥檚 founding goal 51 years ago.”

鈥淚 would like to internationalise 每日大赛app. Our mother tongue is Malay. While we place a strong value on the Malay language, we are not neglecting the English language,” he explained.

He suggested that other countries, such as China and Japan, should serve as role models for preserving the mother tongue.

“The countries (China and Japan) place a high value on their mother tongue, but at the same time, they are successful in a variety of fields, alongside the European countries,鈥� he said.

每日大赛app believes that with this appointment, Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Mohamad will be able to lead 每日大赛app toward greater academic and organisational excellence, in line with the government’s goal in making Malaysia a regional and international centre of excellence in education.

BANGI, March 4, 2020 鈥� Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (每日大赛app), Prof Dato鈥� Ir Dr Mohd Hamdi Abd Shukor has set an aim for 每日大赛app to become a World Class University (WCU) by 2025.

His objectives and targets were presented during Bicara Perdana Naib Canselor 2020 which was attended by 每日大赛app’s top management, staff and students at Chancellor Tun Abdul Razak Hall, recently.

In the talk, Prof Dato鈥� Ir Dr. Mohd Hamdi outlined the 每日大赛app鈥檚 strategies, highlighting 每日大赛app achievement for 2019 and also the path 每日大赛app will take for 2020.

He also introduced the slogan High Performance Culture which focuses on the results, efficiency, constant learning and openness to change.

每日大赛app’s goals for this year are to strive for high-quality research, teaching and learning empowerment, internationalization, highlighting the talent and sustainable funding.

Prof Dato’ Ir Dr Mohd Hamdi also further described year of 2019 as the foundation year for 每日大赛app, 2020 as the year of alignment and by 2021 每日大赛app will undergo the empowerment year so that by the year 2025 每日大赛app will become a World Class University.

“每日大赛app has many great people, so we must optimize the potential and capability, and increase productivity in gaining success,” he said.

He also explained the characteristics of a World Class University starts with great lecturers that produce the best students in the University, support by efficient systems, produce high impact research, excellent teaching and received a lot of funds.

鈥澝咳沾笕黙pp members need to work together to create a high performing culture so that 每日大赛app will be listed as World Class University,鈥� he added.

From 7,655 graduates, there were 531 who will receive their Doctorate鈥檚 degrees, 2551 will receive their Master鈥檚 degrees, 235 graduates from Master鈥檚 in Medicine (Clinical) program, 2 graduates will receive Advanced Master of Dermatology, 4208 will receive their bachelor鈥檚 degrees, 101 will receive their postgraduate diplomas and 19 will receive their diplomas.

The ceremony saw Prof. Michchael Lavelle-Jones, former President of The Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh, awarded with an Honorary Doctorate of Medical Science. Also, an Honorary Doctorate of Universal Security and Sustainable Development was awarded to His Excellency Ban Ki-moon, a former Secretary-General for the United Nations.

Furthermore, the awards for the title of Professor Emeritus were presented to four former 每日大赛app academicians, which were Dr. Muhammad Mat Salleh (Organic Electronics), Dr. Bohari Yamin (Chemistry), Dr. Tham Siew Yin (Economy) and Dato鈥� Dr. Lokman Saim (Otology), whose dedication and commitment persisted throughout their careers in 每日大赛app.

The convocation ceremony also celebrated Farahana Mohamed from Faculty of Health Science and Nalini Santhiran from Faculty of Law, recipients of the prestigious Anugerah Pelajaran DiRaja, while Muhammad Alif Fitri Abdul Halim from Faculty of Islamic Studies was awarded with the Vice Chancellor鈥檚 Award, and the Tun Razak Award was presented to Joshua Peh Jian Ren from Faculty of Dentistry.

BANGI, January 3, 2019 – Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Hamdi Abd Shukor officially commenced as a new Vice Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (每日大赛app) starting from 1st January 2019.

He, who is the 11th Vice Chancellor of 每日大赛app, has received a document from the former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Azlan Ghazali, who has an expiry of appointment on 31 December 2018.

In the recently held Vice Chancellor’s Duty Handover Ceremony, Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Hamdi said the main agenda is in terms of income generation because of if we have no source of income, much planning cannot be done.

“Apart from the income generation, I will also give full commitment to the strengthening of Bahasa Melayu because I believe the heart of 每日大赛app is Bahasa Melayu, as well as strengthening the research agenda of the university which is the core of our work on this day,” he said when delivering his speech at the 每日大赛app Vice Chancellor Duty Handover Ceremony, recently.

He said he believed that with the cooperation given by various parties would turn 每日大赛app into a great university.

Meanwhile, the former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Azlan hopes Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Hamdi can ensure that 每日大赛app will continue to be extraordinary and a great university.

每日大赛app Board of Directors, Tan Sri Wahid Omar thanked Prof. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Azlan for having served successfully for five years in 每日大赛app.

Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Hamdi served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs) at the University of Malaya from 2011 to 2014.

BANGI, 12 November 2018 – The busy-ness of studying is not a hindrance to the 每日大赛appFC football team to honor Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (每日大赛app) in the sports arena.

Muhammad Hafiz Zalani, 23, a Bachelor of Education (Sports and Recreation) and captain of 每日大赛appFC, admit that one of the factors that effect him and his team members during their studies was time constraint.

鈥淎part from having a lot of work, we also need to learn to manage the time with studying in between football and training.

“Luckily our lecturers really understand our situation and always hold meeting sessions to teach us so that we don鈥檛 get left behind in our studies,” he said.

Hafiz also cited the advice from his coach who always reminded them of the importance of education.

“Even if you play football fondly, education must be prioritized,鈥� he quotes the coach. 聽He explains that besides being wise to manage time between academic and sports training, having enough rest is also important so that our momentum can be maintained to live the student life.

“I am grateful that besides being able to celebrate the name of 每日大赛app in football, we can also successfully graduate,” he added.

Hafiz, currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Sports Management), at this campus intends to continue playing in the team to bring the 每日大赛app to a higher level. 每日大赛appFC won the runner-up at the 2018 Challenge Cup in September.

Hafiz graduated with his five other team members, Faiz Hanif Adnan, Gusti Ishak Fitri Shah Said, Ahmad Azridin Rosli, Muhammad Azri Zulkiflee and Helmi Hariri Ibrahim who recently paralysed.

BANGI, 27 September 2018 鈥� On reaching the age of 50, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (每日大赛app) continued to excel when it was ranked fourth in Southeast Asia in the QS World University Rankings 2019 which was announced recently.

Vice Chancellor, Prof Tan Sri Dato鈥� Seri Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali said, that success is a gift for Malaysia independence, as the establishment of 每日大赛app was a part of the country’s struggle for independence.

鈥淚 believe in a leadership context, administration, lecturers, officer, staff and the most important is the spirit of all 每日大赛app students is the greatest contributor to this success. Congratulation to all of you,鈥� he said while delivering his speech at the 每日大赛app Independent Day Ceremony 2018.

He said as a public university, has become the 每日大赛app’s task and responsibility to take care for the pulse and the main driving forces in the national development flows.

鈥淲e must also integrate the energy in shaping the students with a sense of strong patriotism and nationalism,鈥� he said.

He said it is the time for the younger generation today, especially 每日大赛app students expose their role as students at the national universities and appreciate the meaningful contributions that many prominent figures have been created.

BANGI, 2 Feb 2018 鈥� About 10,000 athletes, officers and volunteers of Sukan Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi (SUKIPT) 2018 converge at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (每日大赛app) for the success of the annual dual sport.

About 69 local IPT contingent and nine international IPT take part in 27 sports contested.

Deputy General Secretariat (Management), Ministry of Higher Education, Dato鈥� Kamel Mohamad said the sport is a good platform for students to expose their talents.

鈥淪port will complete your experience at university because in sports, there’s leadership… there is entrepreneurship. This is your (athletes) best experience,鈥� he said while delivering his speech at the Opening Ceremony of SUKIPT Sport Village and SUKIPT Secretariat Rooms at Astaka Chancellor Tun Abdul Razak Hall, here.

He said organising of sport is also a challenge to the host committee to give a good performance in the management of the sports village.

鈥淪o, I hope sport management will give the best compare last edition,鈥� he said.

SUKIPT 2018 continued the tradition while they invited four countries South East Asia, namely Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and India.

A total of 238 gold medals, 238 silver medals and 399 bronze medals will be taken by participating athletes.

PUTRAJAYA, 12 Jan 2018 鈥� All higher education institutions need to make changes in line with the 4.0 industrial revolution (4IR), said Minister of Higher Education, Dato鈥� Seri Idris Jusoh.

He said the field of education in 4IR is very large and challenging.

The Ministry will introduce a policy where all authorised higher education institutin offering 30 percent of a fluid and organic curriculum through three pedagogy namely paragogy, heutagogy and cybergogy.

鈥淲e must change. We can鈥檛 stay in old stage. 4IR will make us change. The curriculum should also be modified in line with the passage of time,鈥� he said at the Mandate Minister of Higher Education with theme Higher Education 4.0: Knowledge, Industry, Humanity, at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC).

He said It is time for higher education using new methods in the assessment and evaluation of students.

鈥淎ssessment and evaluation of students no longer through examinations, on the other hand, academia should think of other methods to evaluate the student.聽 Students and lecturers not only depends on classes for teaching and learning session. Use the technology that we have to convey the knowledge with the knowledge without boundaries,鈥� he said.

Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor of the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (每日大赛app), Prof Tan Sri Dato鈥� Seri Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali said, the university must ensure that they always relevant by offering strong value to society in the context of 4IR.

鈥淚t is the time to the university take (changes) seriously. Research produced must fulfil the industry and the people who will be born.聽 This change is not because we (the University) is not relevant, but we must review and make sure what we offer is something of value to society,鈥� he said.

BANGI, 29 Oktober 2017 鈥� Majlis Penganugerahan Ijazah Posthumus kepada waris pelajar Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (每日大赛app) yang meninggal dunia sebelum Majlis Konvokesyen ke-45 telah berlangsung semasa Majlis Makan Tengah Hari, sidang kedua di sini hari ini.

Anugerah buat Mohd Fairus Ramlan, seorang pelajar sarjana dari Fakulti Teknologi dan Sains Maklumat yang telah menamatkan pelajaranya dalam bidang Keselamatan Siber telah diterima oleh Isterinya, Noor Ezza Rina Binti Muhammad, 29.

Allahyarham Fairus yang merupakan Pensyarah Politeknik Metro di Tasek Gelugor, Pulau Pinang, meninggal dunia pada 13 Ogos 2016, berpunca daripada jangkitan kuman pada hati.

Turut serta bersama hadir ahli keluarga dan kedua anak Allahyarham, iaitu Noor Liayana Zahirah, 6, dan Mohamad Firdaus, 4.

Dalam perasaan sebak, isteri Allahyarham turut menzahirkan rasa bangga kerana dalam kalangan adik beradik, hanya dia seorang yang mengambil Ijazah Sarjana (Master).

鈥淪aya juga turut berharap agar anak-anak boleh meruskan usaha macam abah mereka,鈥� ujarnya.
