School of <\/span>Psychology <\/span>and Human Development has a long-standing tradition as one of the leading psychology expertise in Malaysia. <\/span>At the beginning of <\/span>its existence <\/span>in the 1970s<\/span>, <\/span>psychology <\/span>was <\/span>under the Department of <\/b><\/span>Anthropology <\/span>and Sociology<\/span>, <\/span>Faculty of Arts<\/span>, The <\/span>National University of Malaysia<\/span><\/b>.<\/span> Early e<\/span>stablishment of<\/span> the <\/span>Psychological D<\/span>epartment and program<\/span> was<\/span> assisted by <\/span>a number of <\/span>respective <\/span>lecturers from<\/span> several countries such as <\/span>the United States and <\/span>Indonesia.<\/span><\/div>\n

In 1974, <\/span>Psychology <\/span>program <\/span>produced its first batch of students <\/span>in psychology. <\/span>Many <\/span>of <\/span>them have been <\/span>successful in <\/span>their respective fields <\/span>and <\/span>engaged<\/span> in <\/span>the public service and <\/span>private sector. <\/span>Few others decided to<\/span> return<\/span> to <\/span>the university, either <\/span>as academicians and\/or administrative officers. <\/span>To cater to the growing needs of psychology knowledge in the field, <\/span>the Department of <\/b><\/span>Psychology <\/b><\/span>was established in 1977<\/b>.  <\/span>The establishment of <\/span>this is in line <\/span>with the expansion of <\/span>psychology<\/span> knowledge and demand <\/span>at that time<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The <\/span>Department of <\/span>Psychology <\/span>is one step ahead <\/span>in creating <\/span>human <\/span>capital<\/span> resources <\/span>by offering<\/span> a <\/span>postgraduate program at master degree and PhD levels in psychology in the 1970s. <\/span>In 2001, the Department of Psychology was merged with Faculty of Human Development as part of ÿÈÕ´óÈüapp restructuring policy. <\/span>These historic milestones saw significant changes in creating the S<\/span>chool of <\/span>Psychology <\/span>and Human Development <\/span>(<\/span>PPPPM<\/span>). PPPPM is proud of how far the department has come since its founding in 1974.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
