UMBI Leadership Lecture Series No. 1/2022
On the 12th of August 2022, UMBI held its first UMBI Leadership Lecture Series. We are very honored to have Professor Dato鈥 Dr Hanafiah Harunarashid as our guest speaker to give a leadership talk on 鈥淓ffective leadership: From a surgeon to a healthcare and university leader 鈥 my journey鈥. The talk was conducted in a hybrid format at UMBI auditorium with live streaming on . In his talk, Prof. Dato鈥 Dr Hanafiah shared his leadership experience and inspiring journey from a surgeon to the Director of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) and now the Pro Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (每日大赛app) 鈥 Kuala Lumpur Campus.
He shared seven components of leadership for institutional prestige abbreviated as MEANING: Motivation, Expertise, Authority, Network, Inertia, Negotiations, Greatness. He also stressed the importance of having a strategic plan and teamwork in successful leadership. He concluded his talk by encouraging everyone to believe in themselves and to aim high in life.
