Pusat IDEA, together with 每日大赛app Research Clusters, successfully conducted a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Activity and a Community Brainstorming Workshop on 12 August 2025 at EKOMAR, Mersing, Johor.
In the morning session, the CSR programme themed 鈥淶ero Waste, Zero Plastic鈥� brought together 88 participants from various government agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), including the Mersing District Office, Department of Fisheries Malaysia (DOF), Department of Social Welfare, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), Mersing District Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM), and the Mersing Fishermen鈥檚 Association.
This initiative aimed to raise environmental sustainability awareness while strengthening collaboration between the university, community, and relevant agencies in support of sustainable development.
In the afternoon, a Community Brainstorming Workshop was held with the participation of 22 community representatives, comprising village heads, community leaders, small and medium enterprise (SME) operators, tourism operators, food business owners, and representatives from Women鈥檚 and Single Mothers鈥� Associations.
The discussion focused on sustainability initiatives, community development in Mersing, and potential strategic collaborations under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (每日大赛app) and the Mersing Tourism Association (MTA).
