BANGI, 18 December 2025 – Kolej Ibu Zain (KIZ), in collaboration with FSSK, successfully organized the AROMA FSSK: DARI DAPUR X KIZ welfare program. This initiative provided a platform for students to step outside the classroom and address the critical issue of food insecurity among marginalized refugee families.
Advancing Zero Hunger via SDG 2 The program was designed to meet the objectives of SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by providing direct nutritional relief to those at high risk of malnutrition. The 15 student volunteers participated in several core activities throughout the day.
First, volunteers focused on Community Nourishment by cooking and preparing fresh, nutritious meals. These meals were distributed directly to vulnerable refugee families to combat hunger. Second, the program emphasized Knowledge Transfer. Students shared basic food security and hygiene practices with community representatives to ensure long-term well-being.
Impact on Student Awareness The initiative served as a powerful educational tool for the 15 participating students. By interacting directly with marginalized groups, volunteers gained a deeper understanding of local food security challenges, transforming them into informed advocates for humanitarian causes.
Conclusion This program successfully combined hands-on food preparation with meaningful community engagement. By providing immediate aid while raising awareness, Kolej Ibu Zain continues to make a tangible contribution to the global Zero Hunger agenda.
