Free WiFi for 25,000 每日大赛app Students

BANGI,聽19 Nov, 2012 鈥 All 25,000 students of聽 The National University of Malaysia (每日大赛app) will be able to enjoy聽 free WiFi internet connection聽 for up to 300MB a month until they graduate.

Executive Director of YTL Communications Sdn Berhad Yasmin Mahmood who made the announcement here today said incoming students would聽 also be eligible to enjoy the free WiFi.

YTL Communications and 每日大赛app recently sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to provide Yes 4G connection in the campus. The roll-out of聽 Yes 4G in UKm campus involves million-dollar investment.

Yasmin explained that this investment by the YTL Communications to provide free WiFi is part of their Education Partner Programme聽 (EPP), where they offer easy and quick access to the internet for the purpose of education.

Students聽 who want to use this free 4G WiFi connections must first register at the YES Store located at聽Pusanika students centre.

The student package that YES is offering cost RM99, there is no registration fee and each student will receive a device that will enable them to connect to the WiFi.

If students should exceed the 300MB and need to use more they will have to purchase more.

Another YES 4G package is the RM100 special promotion. Where students will get a SAMSUNG smart phone and package data that is three times more than the 300MB pack.

The Samsung Smartphone can be used as a normal phone but it also functions as an internet device by plugging it through the USB connection on a laptop.

Yasmin said YTL Communications is supporting government initiative to encourage students to use the internet for education purposes.

鈥淵ES 4G is the most advanced in the world. Malaysia is ahead of its time, just think of what it can do for their [students] education,鈥 Yasmin said.

鈥淢alaysia has high internet usage but most of it revolves around the social media, not education. We are trying to push education in terms of internet to the people,鈥 she explained.

She added that YTL Communications believes that the EPP is an investment for the future generations and feels that it is part of their obligation to ensure Malaysia is one of the most connected country in the world.

Yasmin also explained that YES 4G has covered more than 70 per cent of the nation. With its mobile internet that can go undisturbed throughout the entire stretch of the North-South Highway, from the border line of Thailand to the border of Singapore.
